Mary's wet basement in her West Haven home was useless, and she wanted a comfortable new living space to enjoy. A basement should be waterproofed before it is finished (no one wants to spend money on finishing a basement only to see it flooded shortly after), so our basement finishing contractors frequently recommend the waterproofing services of our sister company, Basement Systems, before the basement is finished.
After seeing an ad for Total Basement Finishing, Mary decided to work with us. After meeting several times with our basement finishing specialists, Mary found the best plan for her basement on a timeline that fit with her schedule. Not only were we able to finish the basement creating a luxurious addition to the house, but we also took care of the waterproofing to ensure that the basement would stay dry and beautiful all the time.
After installing the basement waterproofing system, the TBF team went to work turning the basement into usable space. We installed the EverLast™ perimeter basement wall system, a new louver door, our basement ceiling tiles, and new EverLast™ basement windows.
In addition to these standard improvements, we also installed a new lighting system including can lights, and electric baseboard heat. Some EverLast™ wall panels and our mahogany stair railings added a touch of elegance to an otherwise dull basement staircase making it the focal point of the room. We even mounted her new wide screen television to the wall for her!
What resulted from the project was a clean, dry, healthy and aesthetically pleasing new room that Mary will be able to enjoy for years to come!
"Just love it, love it, love it. I love everything about it. Most of all, no more water and it is beautiful. I get so many compliments."
"No problems encountered. They worked around my schedule and were very helpful."
