Finishing Solutions For Your ENTIRE Basement!

Our complete basement finishing system has everything you need to create a fully customized space for your home. We have many different options for your basement flooring, ceiling, support post treatments, and more.

Below are just a few of the many options we provide for basement finishing:

Finished Walls

Our basement wall panels are designed with beauty, long life, and energy efficiency in mind.

Our walls are made with a .5" durable, cementitious wallboard and 2.5" of rigid foam insulation. Together, they provide your basement walls with an R-13 layer of insulation.

This is a studless wall system that's capable of supporting weight anywhere on the wall -- with no need to cut back the walls, studs, or insulation. These sturdy panels are also available in a double-sided panel, which is ideal for creating wall partitions for rooms.

The beige-and-white vinyl outer covering of these panels are durable and fully washable, for easy maintenance and long-lasting beauty.

Basement Flooring

Synthetic wood basement flooring

The concrete floors of basements are cold, hard, and damp. This makes them a surface that's unlike any other flooring surface in your home!

That means that traditional flooring options -- such as wood, carpet, tile, chipboard, and laminate floors -- aren't going to cut it. Tiles become uncomfortably cold as they absorb the cold from below, while carpet, wood, and glue all break down from the moisture below.

We provide homeowners with nine different basement flooring options.

Each of these flooring options is designed to create a comfortable surface underfoot, while standing up to the sometimes-damp floor below. Or, if you have your heart set on a custom floor design, our waterproof sub floor system may be the ideal option for your home.

No-Sag Ceiling Tiles

installing ceiling tiles in a finished basement

Your basement ceiling is different than the other ceilings in your home. Specifically, it is the location of many different pipes, ducts, and wires that you may need to access.

Additionally, while the second floor of a home is likely to be the location of bedrooms and bathrooms, the first floor is often the location of living rooms, kitchens, and other areas of high foot traffic.

Because of these factors, drop ceilings, which use a tiled ceiling system -- are the ideal choice for basements.

Each tile can easily be removed, should you need to access your utilities or replace a damaged tile. And ceiling tiles are the ideal choice for sound dampening on your ceiling -- which can reduce noise from foot traffic above.

Staircases & Doorways

A basement staircase

One of the challenges that remodelers face when upgrading a finished basement is making the space feel like a part of the rest of the home.

If you want your new space feel less like the basement and more like downstairs, then you'll want your staircase to make a great first impression.

Doorways are also an important detail to keep an eye on -- both the ones leading into your finished space, and also the ones leading into closets and utility areas.

One thing to consider is installing a French door, which has built-in glass panes leading in to your basement. These doors can maximize the light in your basement, while also giving the new space an inviting feeling.

Windows, Egress Windows, & Window Wells An egress window well and vinyl basement replacement window

The windows in your finished basement should be clean, long-lasting, and designed to maximize the light in your new living space. The windows we provide include an attractive vinyl frame, as well as two panes of energy efficient, low-E glass panes.

During the remodeling process, we can also provide you with high-quality basement window wells and egress window systems. These systems are slanted to bring in as much sunlight from outside as possible, while our egress system provides a safe exit from the basement in an emergency.

Our window well systems can be provided with clear plastic coverings. These covers protect your window wells from filling with rain, snow, and debris -- which keeps them looking great and eliminates a maintenance hassle for you.

Crown molding along a basement ceiling

Your local Total Basement Finishing Dealer will upgrade your basement with style!

For added appeal, we include crown molding at the point where the walls and ceiling meet (shown on right). Where the wall and carpet meet, we install an attractive baseboard molding system.

For your basement's support posts, we can box them out with wall paneling or wrap them in a Roman-style fitting for an aesthetic touch.

We also have many options for basement lighting, including fluorescent, halogen, LED, and Compact Fluorescent Lighting (CFL).

We also suggest adding accent lighting around the space, and maybe even a planted aquarium for added appeal.

Powerful, Convenient Dehumidifier Systems

An energy efficient dehumidifier being ducted into a finished space

When a basement is finished, the homeowner expects it to be dry and comfortable. However, no one wants to look at a large dehumidifier system in their new living space.

At Total Basement Finishing, we've addressed this issue by designing a dehumidifier system that can be ducted into a finished space, while stored in a closet or utility area.

A wall-mounted control panel allows for easy adjustment of the system -- the system turns itself on and off automatically as the relative humidity is reached.

Our system includes a powerful blowing motor that circulates dry air all over your finished space. Our system has an Energy Star rating, and an air filter included that removes particles from the air as small as 1 micron.
