This home owner in Windsor, CT call us out to help make her temp. upstairs more consistent throughout the rooms. One thing we must take into account with every home is stack effect. Hot air rises through your home and leaks into your attic and is gone forever. To stop this warm air from leaving. we must air seal. Air sealing will help stop the convective air from escaping into your attic. When we air seal we must air seal every penetration in the attic so air cannot find its way through. After we do this we can blow insulation. Air sealing this home will be a great start to making this home more consistent!
Insulating an attic with TrueSoft Cellulose to keep items in the attic protected from heat and cold.
This homeowner in Windsor, CT called us out to their home to update their insulation and increase overall energy efficiency. We noticed they did not have much insulation in the basement. Along the rim joists around the perimeter of the home in the basement, a lot of air is able to escape out of and enter the home. Since the cold, concrete walls of the basement are buried in the ground they tend to be about 17° cooler than than your home should be. In the summer this allows warm, humid air into your basement, hitting the cold concrete walls. This will cause condensation, supporting mold.
We got right to the home, prepped and protected the customers belongings and got to work. First,we install our Foamax insulation boards along the concrete walls. Now, we install our spray foam insulation around the perimeter of the home on the rim joist. Since it expands, it fills in all gaps, cracks and joints air was able to leak into the home before.
Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver, these homeowners are more comfortable, happy, and more energy efficient in their homes!

This homeowner in Windsor, CT called us hoping we would be able to help him with his insulation. His home was very temperature sensitive, and it was clear that the attic insulation was not doing its job.
We had the perfect solution for this customer. This solution has three parts.
The first part is the removal of the insulation. We bagged and removed the fiberglass batt insulation that was inside the attic. To finish off that step, we vacuumed up any loose pieces that were still on the attic floor to provide a clean and fresh workspace. After that, we began the second step -- air sealing. We used Zypfoam™ one part spray foam to air seal. This seals all cracks and crevices in the attic floor. We then used a long hose attached to a machine that blows our TruSoft™ cellulose insulation into the attic. TruSoft™ cellulose is able to fill all gaps and odd-shaped voids, as it is blown in insulation.
Now, this homeowner will have a much more comfortable home!
