Ongoing water intrusion had steadily compromised this Bear, DE basement, leaving the space damp, uncomfortable, and at risk for long-term damage. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the homeowner reached out to the experienced team at Quality 1st Basement Systems for a reliable and permanent solution. A thorough evaluation was conducted by System Design Specialist Chris, who carefully identified the precise source of the moisture and assessed the basement’s unique conditions to ensure the most effective approach could be taken.

Based on his findings, Chris designed a customized waterproofing system tailored to the home’s specific needs, which included the installation of our patented WaterGuard Drainage System, a TripleSafe Sump Pump, and an IceGuard Discharge Line.

Working together, these advanced systems now collect and redirect groundwater away from the foundation, provide dependable pumping power even during heavy rains or power outages, and prevent discharge line freezing in colder temperatures. The customer wanted to finish the basement, but this basement needed some work done first. First, we installed the WaterGuard waterproofing system. Then we added CarbonArmor to repair the bowing foundation wall. We also had to add an egress to meet code. We finished the basement with our TBF finishing system, which comes with a 50-year guarantee against water or mold damage. We finished the job with some nice barn doors and our grey Thermal Plank flooring.

In this basement, water was intruding through the drywall and a moldy smell started to occur in the area. Our team went out to cut back the wall, removed and hauled away damaged insulation in order for us to install our sub-floor drainage system with a vapor barrier. This drain system will capture any water that seeps in through the foundation, which gets carried down safely through our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier that connects to the WaterGuard. This surface barrier eliminates vapor, moisture and by keeping this area dry, will prevent mold growth.

This customer was in the process of finishing his basement, but when a recent storm hit, it brought water in to the basement and put a halt on his current project. We came out and assessed the basement and our waterproof solution consisted of an installation of our WaterGuard XL, 4 Trench Drains, 2 Well Ducts, partial CleanSpace and our TripleSafe Sump Pump. Now this customer can confidently finish his basement, knowing he is protected from many rain storms to come.

In this unfinished basement, water was seeping in through the floor during heavy rainfall. We dug a trench along the perimeter of the wall to install our WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system that will flow the collected water down into the sump pump system. Lastly, we installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier that captures any wall leakage or moisture seeping in through the stone and carries it down into the sub-floor drain.
