A homeowner in the Orford, QC was dealing with excess humidity in their crawl space. Our system design specialist conducted a thorough evaluation, pinpointing the root causes of the humidity. Ms. Tremblay contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec, because a strong odor of humidity emanated from her basement. There was several water seepage, mold and its sump pump system was not sufficient to remove all the water. All of these factors caused this unpleasant smell of dampness.

Our client wanted a complete and permanent solution to her problem. And for that, our experts installed a WaterGuard interior drain which is connected to a second SmartPump sump pump system. In this way, the water ends up in the WaterGuard and the latter will direct it to the Smart Pump. Then they laid a drainage mat on the gravel floor. Its function is to direct the surface water towards the sump pump. They added the TerraBlock insulation sheets to the drainage mat in order to insulate the floor of the house and allow for some comfort when moving. Finally, they applied our CleanSpace coating on top of the TerraBlock. The three combined (Drainage Mat, TerraBlock and CleanSpace) form a perfect trio for insulating and waterproofing the basement.
