February 7, 2019 Mr. Larry Janesky, Owner Connecticut Basement Systems 33 Progress Avenue Seymour, CT 06483 Re: Connecticut Basement Systems (CBS) Hegermiller Installations – 4 Oakledge Circle and 18 Scribner Ave, Norwalk, CT 06854 Dear Mr. Janesky, I am writing to compliment you and your team. From my initial inquiry to CBS to the completion of the second installation today, your people were a complete pleasure with whom to work. Your salesperson, Vin Orsini overcame my significant objections to hiring CBS, starting with the adequacy of the design and ending with your price for the work (which was significantly higher than the competition). What convinced me to work with CBS was Vin’s thorough knowledge not only of your product, but of construction and of the specific challenges of the job. He far surpassed his peers from Vulcan and BudgetDry who gave cursory, inaccurate or incomplete answers to my questions. Over multiple conversations, Vin spent the time necessary to fully understand the project and to thoroughly explain the solution he recommended. He also was available to me through the prolonged scheduling process and through the job completion. He returned calls, text and emails promptly. Your production coordinator, Jennifer Raccio, was a joy. I had asked for an earlier job date than was called out in the contract. She called and offered me several dates and ultimately the job was completed before the specified contract date. She was unfailingly cheerful and accommodating. Finally, your construction crew – both times headed by Josh – was fantastic. (They did my daughter’s house at 18 Scribner first, after which I requested them for the job at my house. I am so glad that I did.) The crew called ahead to confirm their arrival time, arrived when scheduled, worked diligently while on the job, and did a splendid job overall at both locations. Their work was neat and professional. Their truck was well organized and clearly reflected their work ethic. They finished ahead of schedule and left both the basement and their path to the basement cleaner than they found it. Afterward, Josh fully briefed me on the operation of the system and recommended that I call CBS for annual maintenance. It is not often you encounter such courtesy and professionalism these days and my experience is that the corporate culture has a great deal to do with how your employees relate to the world. My congratulations to you for the business you have created and the people you have chosen for your team. At this point, my hope is that your system performs as well as your people. I hope to be able to write you again after a few heavy rains and report that all is well. Very truly yours, Don Hegermille
