Before and after we insulated and encapsulated this crawl space.
This very large crawlspace had debris and dampness in the space. We cleaned and dried our the space then insulated the walls with SilverGlo and put Drainage Matting down. We then encapsulated the entire space to create a moisture barrier.
This customer had many occasions of several feet of water in his crawlspace. His main concern was keeping the crawlspace dry, healthy, and keeping the room above it warmer.
Healthy Basement Systems installed a SmartSump Pump and an UltraSump Battery Backup Pump system, along with a WaterWatch Alarm System, for water control. We also installed a CleanPump Sump Pump Pedestal which elevates the sump pump, and keeps the pump free of clogging. To ensure proper discharge of excess water, we installed the LawnScape Outlet at the end of the buried discharge line. To protect the basement from brutal winter weather, we installed an IceGuard systems. This allows water to escape when the discharge line is frozen and prevents the basement from flooding.
To tackle the mold, we applied CleanStart Plus to all the joist and the subfloor. This also serves as a mold preventative. The entire space was fully insulated with TerraBlock flexible insulation and SilverGlo rigid foam board, then we sealed the walls with our WallCap product.
Finally, a CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System was installed, along with CleanSpace Drainage Matting under the CleanSpace liner. For better access, an Everlast door was the final step in the process.
Our client was thrilled to have a dry, mold free, and healthy crawl space that will never flood, nor smell musty or moldy again. In addition, there will be substantially lower heating and cooling bills!
